UPDATE ON EVENT ENTRY PRICE CHANGES

When I first published the price inceases, I knew there would be some kick back and plenty of questions. They did come from various sources and I do appreciated the feedback.
After much consideration and lengthy discussion with staff, plus looking around at what other independant stroes do, we have slightly revised some of the changes. The new event pricing is as follows.

Magic: the Gathering
~ Monday Precon - $12.50 (Pack for Playing - No extra prizes)
~ Thursday Commander - $12.50 (Pack for Playing)
~ FNM Standard Showdown - $17.50 (Usual Packs for wins)
Flesh and Blood
~ Thursday Classic Constructed - $17.50 (Usual structure for prizes)
Pokemon
~Saturdays $15 (1-3 packs depnding on wins)
Yu-Gi-Oh
~ Saturdays $17.50 (same prize structure as current)
Grand Archive
~ Tuesdays $17.50 (same prize structure as current)
Dungeons & Dragons
~ Tuesday & Wednesday Nights $17.50
~ PLEASE NOTE that half of your D&D entry fee goes to your DM's who spend a lot of time organising your campaigns

NOW FOR SOME POINTS AND CLARIFICATION
1. We have always run events at a loss, we are just happy to have you here and have subsidised costs from shop sales. Just to give you an idea, event entries currently cost us $20.00 and up per entry, so we still will be losing money on each event entry, but as I said, this is subsidised by shop sales.
2. When comparing our events and stock prices to similar independant game stores, our events have been cheaper and with this price rise, they still are. We also pay our DMs, most stores do not do that. And our prices on store product is similar if not slightly cheaper in most cases. Do not compare our prices with Good Games, they are heavily subsidised by their parent company. Do not compare our stock prices with stores that do not provide a game space. I could sell everything cheaper online, peace of cake, but I want to give you all a game space and shop sales need to subsidise that.
3. I know that any price rise is not ideal, but we need to stay on top of it and make sure the great game space is available and sustainable for years to come. But based on these increases, the shop would only bring in an extra $250 a week. This will be soon eaten up with a staff member taking on an extra few hours to improve your experience here.
4. My staff and I will continue to provide the best possible gaming experience we can and they have been asked to try and squeeze in more promos and value for our card players if they can. But we have all agreed on this strategy and price change and we are confident we are still providing great value to you.
5. Finally, I thank those customers that have provided feedback to me directly by phone and messages. I do want that and am more than happy to listen to you.
